Considered Colour was a hand-screen-printed and hand-dyed textile collection. The collection exhibited at Premiere Vision, Paris and New Designers. Numerous pieces were bought by White Stuff, which was turned into a 'Meeting Roberta' womenswear collection.
This personal project was an intense exploration of colour. I became obsessed and intrigued with how colours could be made, seen and worked together in unusual ways. I hand-dyed all my fabric and only printed with dye because I enjoyed this mathematical yet risky process. In every textile piece, there is a fine line between experimentation and control of dye. The largest textile piece which I produced was a striking 3m x 1.5m length. I also designed an interactive book where colour swatches could be moved and played around to create new palettes and compositions.
